"Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It's just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy." ~Pema Chödrön

Hi Diane...
I love these pictures and the metaphor. Interestingly, I started leafing through Pema Chodron's books from my shelves last night, thinking, I really need to read these again. :) Interestingly I was drawn to When Things Fall Apart...
Very interesting, Diane, and great pictures to go along with those thoughts.
I feel like we are in complete sync right now. I have that book next to my bed. And indeed things are falling apart for me physically...and there is nothing to do but allow that to happen and allow space to grieve and listen to my heart and trust that something new will be born from this in time.
Beautiful. This quote "Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know." describes exactly how I feel each time one of my beloved animals dies; I know that they have fulfilled their own purpose in life -- and my hope is that I understood and learned.
