Wisdom of Einstein

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."  ~Albert Einstein

Really breathtaking captures, Diane! Love the colors and the shadows! And Einstein's words are perfect! Hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with more beauty like this!

Interesting quote, I don't know much about Einstein's "inner" life - it reminds me, somehow, of Walt Whitman(his life and work).

BTW, Bob Thurman gave a talk on "Expanding our circle of Compassion." There's a link to it on my FB profile.

Oh yes, thanks Tom, that's a great TED talk by Thurman. Here's the link for anyone who would like to watch Robert Thurman :: Expanding your circle of compassion.

We tend to think as we are seperated from others. Einstein's quote reminds us to realise the reality and urge us to think in a higher level.
