"Who" suffers?

"It is only the artificial ego that suffers. The man who has
transcended his false 'me' no longer identifies with his suffering."

As you probably know, the word 'suffer' comes from the Latin roots FERRE, to bear, and SUB, under---hence, to support (something).

As is so often the case, it takes 'two' to suffer.

I love this pointer Diane. Even unhappiness can't make me unhappy! I've had rare moments in the middle of a foul mood when it hit me, "There's absolutely nothing wrong. A miserable mood is here, and at the same time, I am completely content." I'm going to copy this pointer down as a "wake-up bell" when I find myself identifying with suffering. Thank you.
