as always, very interesting and beautifu photos Diane, you are always blessed to see these wildlife, I only had shots of desert tortoise from Wild animal Park, not from the wild. Love your shots.

oh those are great! the tortoise is so expressive! and i just love california quail (i'm assuming that's what those are!)

Hi Texwisgirl, Thank you, they are Gambel's quail, similar to the California species.

Here's proof there's much life in the desert. I'm surprised to see a tortoise as I've always thought they need lots of water.
