Paradigm Shift

"According to Webster's, a paradigm shift is a fundamental change in approach or assumptions.  It is interesting that Webster's uses assumptions rather than facts.  We live our lives trusting our mind to tell us how things are, but is it telling us the facts, or just assumptions based on input over the years, and how it sees the world?"  ~from Oneness by John Greven

Hi Diane,
Thanks for posting this quote, and the stunning photo. Did you take the photo or find it on the web? I also have the book Oneness by John Greven and find it often strikes a chord in me when I read it. Distinguishing an assumption from a fact can be huge. I assume I am a "separate someone"...but is that assumption a fact?

Most of the photos are from walks in the desert. I love to take pictures and am fortunate to live next to a national forest.

Greven's book is small but powerful. When I examine my thoughts I find that most of them are based on conditioning rather than fact.
